CEGLIS successfully launched a community tree planting initiative aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and raising awareness about climate change. The event brought together volunteers, students, community leaders, and environmental advocates from various parts of the region.
The initiative began with an educational session on the importance of trees in combating soil erosion, improving air quality, and supporting biodiversity. Participants learned about different tree species suitable for the local environment and the long-term benefits of conservation efforts.
Following the awareness session, volunteers worked together to plant more than 500 tree seedlings across designated community areas. The activity was carried out in collaboration with local authorities and community members who pledged to monitor and care for the newly planted trees.
Speaking during the event, the CEGLIS Program Coordinator emphasized the organization’s commitment to sustainable development and environmental protection. He encouraged young people to actively participate in conservation projects and become ambassadors for environmental responsibility.
Community members expressed appreciation for the initiative and highlighted the positive impact it would have on future generations. Several schools also indicated interest in partnering with CEGLIS on future environmental education programs.
The organization plans to expand the project to neighboring communities over the coming months, with the goal of planting thousands of additional trees and strengthening community participation in environmental stewardship.
